IDS Data Management

Purpose

The IDS Data Management form has the following functions:

Displays entries from the directory server that have not yet been updated on the MiVoice Business IDS. These entries may be detained (waiting to be processed manually), pending (waiting to be processed automatically), failed (rejected due an error).

Enables the administrator to manage the entries. Possible actions include performing a change operation in order to update the status of a detained or failed update, authorizing an update, and deleting an update.

Support for LDIF file import. Add, modify and delete functions are also supported.

Support for LDIF file export.

Field Descriptions

Parameter

Description

Date/Time

Displays the date and time the entry was recorded. Format: YYYY-MMM-DD HH:MM:SS

Action

Displays the action for the record. Available options are:
Add - Indicates a new record that the system has placed in pending or detained status.
Modify - Indicates a record that a user has updated, but the update has not yet been applied.
Delete - Indicates a record that a user has deleted, but the deletion has not yet been applied.

Status

The following options are available:

Detained - The update is held back until the administrator manually processes it. There are three basic reasons for updates to be detained:
All updates been detained because the administrator has selected the "Detain Updates" option when scheduling an IDS synchronization event. This enables the administrator to review the records before applying the updates and allowing synchronization to proceed.
An update has been modified after having failed, but the modification has not yet been applied.
An update has a DN that does not match the DN on the MiVoice Business system.
Pending - The update is waiting to be processed by the system; no manual intervention is required. The update is removed from the list when it is successfully processed.
Connection Error - The update failed because it could not connect to a remote host when it attempted to use SDS Reach Through. The update will be automatically retried at a later time.
Blocked: Database contention - The update failed because of a conflict with another database operation. The update will be automatically retried at a later time.
Blocked: SDS sync in progress - The update cannot be processed because SDS is running. The update will be automatically retried at a later time.
Application error: The update cannot be processed because the data is in error. For more information, refer to the Reason field in Details section of the form. The error must be corrected, either on the directory server or in the update itself, before the update can be processed.

User Name

Displays the first and last name of the user, separated by a comma. If only one name is supplied (first or last), the comma is not inserted.

Role

Displays the role associated with a customized User and Service Template. If the role is blank, the default template is used. The template provides data for non-IDS managed fields such as the device type and class of service.

Directory Number

Displays the directory number (DN) of the record. The DN is in network number format and has a PNI prefix. For example, if the DN is 1001 and the PNI of the service host is 201, then the complete number is 2011001.

Home Element

Displays the MiVoice Business system that hosts the user's DN.

Directory Server

Displays the MiVoice Business system that provides resiliency for the user's DN.

Personal Information

Last Name

Displays the user's last name.

First Name

Displays the user's first name.

Department

Enter the user's department within the enterprise.

Location

Enter the user's geographic location.

Role

Enter the role that links to a User and Service Template; if no role is provided, the default template is used.

Language

Select the user's language.

Enter the user's email address.

Service Information

Directory Number

Enter the directory number of the record.

Hosting Information

Home Element

Select the MiVoice Business system that hosts the user's DN.

Secondary Element

Select the MiVoice Business system that provides resiliency for the user's DN.

Directory Server

Displays the name of the directory server for the IDS connection. The list of valid directory servers is maintained on the Network Elements form.

Distinguished Name

Displays the distinguished name of the default location used to search objects on the directory server.

Other Information

Date/Time

The date and time the update was created. Format: YYY-MMM-DD HH:MM:SS

Last Retried

Displays the date and time of the most recent failed update retry.

Action

Displays the current action for the update:
Add - the record is being added to the system.
Modify - the record already exists and is being modified.
Delete - the record is being deleted from the system.

Status

Displays the current status of the update.

Reason

Displays the detailed reason why the update has an application error.
